I don't recall FC visiting our house when I was little, I expect he was busy . Anyway, this is the 1st year he will visit dd at home as we've been away before. So, what does he leave for your dc's, is it usually a main thing and DP's do the rest or what???

Trying to organise whilst dd out for half hour.

help..................

We always used to have 1 pressie and the stocking.

That's what DD is getting too

DelGirl · 19/12/2008 16:27

In our house FC brings the lot.

GrimmaTheNome · 19/12/2008 16:29

Ours used to be the stocking from FC, the big things from us. Easier to hide a bagful of little things.

DelGirl · 19/12/2008 16:29

well that's no help whatsoever Fimbo lol DD already thinks i'm mean and she's only 3 pmsl

In our house Santa always filled the stockings, and left a main present and then maybe a couple of other ones, and our parents did the rest.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 19/12/2008 16:29

yeh FC brings 1 BIG present (when she's old enough she'll send him a letter) and a stocking.

Then we give her whatever. Normally a big pressie and some little ones.

FIMBOingaroundtheChristmasTree · 19/12/2008 16:30

I know . It wasn't really until I joined MN that I realised it's kind of stoopid really.

fruittea · 19/12/2008 16:30

I always had everything from FC, and that's how we started it with the DC. However, as they got older and realised that their friends got thing from their parents too, we started to give one medium pressie from us - not the big one, not just a stocking filler. If I could start all over, I'd make it stocking only, I think, or stocking plus one other bigger thing.

DelGirl · 19/12/2008 16:31

ok, thanks, I think FC maybe bringing her 1 big, 1 med and a couple of small things but as i'm not an elf, i'm not really sure. Thanks

In our house FC just bought the presents that went in our pillow case. This was mostly cheaper things and then one big present. If the big present didn't fit in the pillow case there would be a note inside directing us to where it was hidden. FC always hid it somewhere in the house and didn't leave it under the tree.

snowleopard · 19/12/2008 16:34

FC brings the stocking stuff, he sneaks into your room at night and fills the stocking. Other presents are under the tree and are from us, relatives etc.

I find it hard enough to remember not to refer to the stocking presents in front of DS (Friend "Oh what nice socks DS has, where did you get them" Me "Gap, er that is SANTA got them from Gap of course!!!" etc.) I couldn't possibly hold it together for everything else including presents from rellies and whatnot.

I am so lazy every year when wrapping the pressies i just get every second or thrid pressies and sign it from Santa or Rudolph or something similar, the rest are from dp, myself and the other sibling.

Then the Snata/Reindeer pressies go in out huge, red, sack (i got it on ds1's first xmas 4 yrs ago for £1 in QS -bargain!) and i leave it on the sofa or by the front door then we all fiegn great suprise at 'the mess that silly santa has made! Who ever could all these presents be for?'

PortAndStilton · 19/12/2008 16:36

Stocking only.

FIMBOingaroundtheChristmasTree · 19/12/2008 16:36

My dd is 10 and has never questioned why we don't buy her gifts when her aunties and grandparents do.

When I was small FC brought all my gifts which is why I guess I have just followed it on (I think dh was the same)

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 19/12/2008 16:38

In our house FC brings the stocking and a couple of wished for items. We then give dd a couple of things from us as well (cos we don't want her wondering why we don't buy her anything) and the rest comes from people who have given them to her.

Tommy · 19/12/2008 16:51

In our house, FC brings a stocking with small things in it (and lots of chocolate ) and we give the "big" present

santasinmywaistband · 19/12/2008 17:14

FC brings the stocking and the item requested in their letter. any other presents for them, normally about 4 in total, are from us
