Ds3 is a fourth child and so we reeeeallly struggle with knowing what to get him for xmas/birthdays etc. We have SO many toys already - castles, train sets, dressing up stuff, playmobil etc etc so he already has heaps of toys to play with.

We've got him a couple of things but that is all!

We are getting the playmobil camper van so that won't help you!

Also a couple of books and dvds - these are better for you as you can get new-out ones that no one else in the family will have had.

And I have a jungle book top for him too (from H&M) - I wouldn't normally give him clothes for xmas but I know he will like it.

a BRIO transporter bridge

snap snowleopard. We have a playmobil camper van stashed away too.

Actually, that's for our 2 y-o. The 3 y-o is getting the rescue helicopter, and some books, and a wooden bridge from Tesco for his train set. He has also expressed an interest in (but isn't getting:

duplo police boat (but we couldn't find one anywhere)
a play farm
some buffers for his railway

other things I considered:

play food and a cash register so he can play shops.

toy baking set - he loves cooking, but I'm never quite sure if they're supposed to actually make stuff in the ones they sell in Lakeland - they don't seem big enough for proper cooking?

New bedroom stickers and duvet cover
Nice (GLTC) frige letters
His own request: a Barbie typewriter
ELC Remote control car (and one for brother)

We have heaps from older cousins too - as he gets older hopefully he can choose things.

far too much. but mostly little things. lots of scooby doo stuff, small cars etc (that I've picked up on a bargainous ebay spree). also a tonka helicopter and dp will buy either a scooby doo hide and seek or one of those kiddi cameras as his main present.

DS has been obsessed with camper vans for a while - we're hoping it lasts

What about a nice poster (framed?) for his room?

DaisyMooSteiner · 19/12/2008 13:49

Lots of good ideas. We have virtually everything that's been mentioned, or very similar!

The things we've got so far for him are a toy camera, some pretend power tools, a book, a game, a PC game. So I don't need much just a few things so he doesn't feel hard done by compared to the tohers.

ds2 is 3 in Jan. he is getting

  • asda remote controlled dinosaur, he saw it and loved - £3.91
  • lego base plate (got one for ds1 and thought 2 would be useful)
  • couple of picture books and peppa pig sticker book
  • thomas fridge magnet things with a fold out scene
  • couple of small lego's from the mirror promotion
  • glowstick, light up balloon, toothbrush, selection box

my parents have got him a peppa pig playset.
aunt and uncle are getting a playdough set - one of the mainly dough ones.
crafty things always good as they get used up.

DS1 is 3 in Feb. Main present from us is a balance bike (god it's lovely, I want one!). Also got various books and jigsaws from us and a basketball (his most desired object ever) from Santa. I also got him a secondhand Buzz Lightyear spaceship as he loves Toy Story.

My sister has got him an ELC electric guitar. He also wants one of those Helmet Heroes things here but don't think anyone has got him one.

Something else i am considering is this playtent but it is obviously only practical if you have the playpen already!
