What do you think of as stocking presents

Everyone talks about stocking presents, but as everyone thinks their own christmas traditions are normal I thought it would be interesting to see what others view as stocking presents.

We don't have stockings in my immediate family, children put out a pillow case and this is filled with small things, the main present from the parents and any other presents received from family and friends before xmas.
The small things aren't labeled and are supposedly from FC, everything else is labeled from the giver, and the dc's have often being there when these have been passed over to the family.

The small things (what I view as stocking fillers even though we don't have stockings) my ds's are getting this year are;

top trumps / jigsaw
lego base plate
selection box
annual / book
glow stick
toothbrush
couple of small legos (from the mirror promotion)

Is this the type of thing that others view as stocking fillers?

Exactly the same in my house. Stocking filers for DD(13) involve hair bands, make-up, pens and pencils, an annual etc. I decorated a pillow case, some years ago for her stocking too!

I'm not sure I'd be comfortable if everything was from Father Christmas. She needs to appreciate and thank the givers, for what she's got.

decorating one is a nice idea - we just get whatever is on top of the laundry pile
I remember one year when I left my pillow case out and in the morning there were 2 stuffed with presents (that must have been a good year! but as I said in my op EVERYTHING went in) and I was amazed that FC knew where to find another one .

Yep - the sort of things you mention. Not a selection box here - always chocolate coins. And an apple and a satsuma. The children get these in stockings from Father Christmas. Presents from everyone else under the tree.

Pens, pencils, crayons, stickers, small playmobil set (like the specials which cost £2), small lego sets, chocolate coins, a few candy canes, hairbrush or comb, hairslides, socks, a new belt, a book.

Those are the sort of items in my dc's stockings.

I like to get something unusual. My fav thing this year are the kid sized oven mitts and apron set from Tiger. They had black skull ones, and pink princess ones.

My ds has just decided he likes Chinese food, so we Santa will also be bringing him those chopsticks/tweezer things.

Also usually get some nice chocolate/sweets - generally something that the wouldn't have seen before.

We do the Stocking, and one present from Santa -the rest from us/each other/ dogs, and other relatives mark as from them as well.

I've just looked at DD's and I did it in 1997, so she was 2! I just used fabric pens and wrote Happy Christmas DD on it and lots of pictures of FC, snowmen, holly and Rudolph.

It's nice to look back on it, actually.
