BE CAREFUL CHRISTMAS SHOPPING - I'VE JUST HAD A BAG PINCHED OFF THE BACK OF MY PUSHCHAIR!

I felt very proud of myself today as I had finished my Christmas shopping. However after getting home and unloading my bags from the car I realised a Per Una bag from M&S was missing (with £100 worth of presents in it).

I've phoned M&S and they checked their CTV and confirmed I definitely put the bag on the handle of my pushchair. Theres no way I would have dropped it, I've phoned all the stores I've been in and it hasn't been handed in. The only possible answer is that it was stolen from my pushchair. I'm so depressed as I can't afford to re-buy these pressies and have only just managed to stop crying.

I just wanted to warn you all to be careful when shopping and to be vigilant with your shopping bags.

LadyOfWaffle · 18/12/2008 18:27

that's awful.

Oh poor you . How awful. I hate this kind of behaviour. How the feck does the perpetrator know whether you can "afford" to lose those things or not? Makes me so angry.

sweetcat · 18/12/2008 18:28

There's some nasty specimens about. Sorry to hear that mummyineedyounow

MoMoMoMeeeeryChristmas · 18/12/2008 18:28

Aw That's shit. Are you sure it's not still under the buggy or something? Maybe you can't see it squished underneath it.

mummyineedyounow · 18/12/2008 18:33

I've emptied the car and pushchair 3 times in the hope that I'm being a bit blind but unfortunately not!

Did you pay on a credit card? You might be able to claim it back.

mummyineedyounow · 18/12/2008 18:35

No, debit card.

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 18/12/2008 18:38

will insurance cover it? how awful for you

gerbo · 18/12/2008 19:22

That's a big shame - a big mn hug...just tell all your loved ones - cheesy but true that it's the thought that counts and they really won't mind one bit.

LilySwalLoosHerTurkeyBaster · 18/12/2008 20:06

I thought this the other day.
I saw a dad with loads of bags hung on pushchair and lo was toddling around outside shop and he was following her.
If there had been any opportunists around they could have easily taken them.

Am sorry check if your insurance will cover it ?

mummyineedyounow · 18/12/2008 22:04

Thanks for all your messages. I know our insurance has a £50 XS so probably not worth claiming.

I know its silly to be so upset at efectively losing £100 but just so annoyed!

My reason for posting this was because I'm sure if I was more aware this wouldn't have happened and I hope this doesn't happen to too many other people.

Oh how awful. My mum told me to keep tabs on my handbag at this time of year when its so busy but don't even think about shopping bags.

((((((((hugs))))))))) for you. And a big grrrrrr at the horrible people that did it.
