Still time to take it back, just about.
It's an adopt a tiger pack from boots, you get a cuddly toy tiger, a certificate and a CD about tigers (which I thought she could use with the children).
Is this stupid, she likes cats but I couldn't find a mug or anything with cats on so thought tiger = cat ???

No it is a lovely idea and very generous. It sounds like it cost more than I would ever spend.

georgiemum · 18/12/2008 09:47

Very nice of you. She can use it in class to teach the kids about the environment, animals, geography, ecology...

Wasn't it expensive though?

DisasterArea · 18/12/2008 09:48

more over generous than daft. i was thinking along the lines of a box of maltesers if i get around to it. nice idea though.

KatieDD · 18/12/2008 09:48

3 for 2 at Boots so not too bad. Plus I got points back so about a tenner.

I think it sounds genuinely thoughtful and a huge improvement on the box of Quality Street my dd's reception teacher will be getting! Good for you.

cornsilk · 18/12/2008 09:50

Katie DD that's a really good idea - I might do the same. Did they have any other animals? Ds has a job share!

KatieDD · 18/12/2008 09:52

There were quite a few, I bought the DD's a dolphin and a panda too. Didn't fancy the monkey, he wasn't very attractive but equally deserving i'm sure.

Oh good i'm glad nobody thinks it's a bit daft, thanks.

My sister is a teacher and last year she got 6 bottles of wine, 8 boxes of chocs and 3 naff toiletry sets. it's a lovely gift.

clam · 18/12/2008 11:25

6 bottles of wine sounds good to me!

Alambil · 18/12/2008 11:25

I'd love that present - really thoughtful and so useful in class!

TooFoggy · 18/12/2008 11:36

o dear, have I been really stingy? I have just got one tree ornament (very nice and china) for each teacher. Yours sounds so much more thoughtful.

KatieDD · 18/12/2008 11:41

One of my other daughters teachers has a mug with a robin on it, well she has if parcelforce deliver it today and the other has £10 put in a collection, so no thought there at all.
I have years where they get a bottle of wine too, so don't fret it evens itself out.

Fab! I would love it!

I think it's a great idea too. I have given teachers Oxfam unwrapped gifts (e.g. school books) before and they've gone down very well. One teacher even came outside to thank me for it.

OhYouMerryMerryKitten · 18/12/2008 11:54

Thats a really nice idea
I've done the Oxfam unwrapped thingy for a teacher that I knew would like it.
This year dds teacher is getting a jar of chutney and a jar of barely set apple jelly.
