How do others hang their Christmas decorations up?

Like it says on the box

DH has put the decorations up with the DC this afternoon while I was out at the hairdressers [oh! how lovely, forced smile emoticon] in their own style but he has used tons of tape to hang it all up and already this evening 4 pieces have come fluttering to the ground.

So how do you put yours up? So I can tell DH this is not normal.

With gaffer tape and great big nails. Like any normal bloke.

drawing pins mostly

loads of 'white tack', and discrete bits of sellotape.

We don't have much up this year, but we've hung the cards (hole punched and knotted on string) along the chimney breast, then got loads of paper chains up all around the hall and landing.

They seem to be stuck in place well with or method, but we'll see, lol.

We've moved from a micro flat, where there was no room to put up decorations to a 3 bedroom house with loads of room and DH has gone mad with the decorations. I had plans to do it all very tastefully but just ran out of time so DH and the DC did it.
