I don't understand.

All I want is a good sized turkey that's had a happy life , so was about to order one from our local farm online. Now they've gone and got all modern and have these different options. How do I know the difference between a crown a breast roll or a whole bird?

Can any one illuminate?

And another thing, how do I work out what size? We have four adults and three dc's (9yr old will eat like an adult), but also want plenty for turkey sandwhiches and boxing day.

too, too complicated (no Nigella me).

I think you need a whole bird for that many people especially as you want to have lots of leftovers. Some butchers will do a whole turkey boned and rolled which can be easier to cook/carve...

I've cooked a breast roll for as few as 3 of us and as many as 6 adults and 2 kids. IMO they are easier to cook, carve and harder to make tough and stringy (which has been my only experience when cooking whole gigantic turkey!!).

speak to your butcher/the farm about what size you need. They are great at that
