Normally by this time I am feeling all christmassey but this yr I just can't get into it .
Pretty much all the presents are bought and wrapped and the tree is up and the goose is ordered but I don't feel very festive .

Everyone I speak to seems to be toning down the celebrations this yr because of lack of money or lack of christmas spirit .

So if anybody out there is feeling good about christmas come and tell me why (or not )

I am feeling Christmasy!

I can't say why exactly becuase i get really into it every year without much pusuasion!

We have already been having clod meat and cheese buffets at weekends for everyone to help themselves to and we have been sitting down of an afternnoon with just the tree lights on and a christams film with warm mince pies and cream.

I have been listening to carols and christmas songs, i have decorated my house and have planned the Xmas lunch down to the last marmalade baked carrott.

I am surrounded by family who are all really down on xmas and have been for the past few years but i just carry on ignoring there oaning and groaning and if need be ding 'oh christmas tree' twice as loud!

Sure

Serves 4-6

Preheat your oven to 200C/400F/Gas6.

Peel 800g of Carrots.
Chop any large ones, leaving small ones whole.

Get a sheet of tinfoil about 60cm long, fold it in half to make a crease then open it out again.

Pile Carrotts in the middle of tin foil on one side of the crease.

Finley slice 1 rasher of bacon, pick the leaves off 2 sprigs of rosemary and finley chop.

Peel 1 clove of garlic and finley slice.

Scatter bacon, rosemary and garlic over carrotts.

Grate the zest of 1/2 orange onto the carrots and add 1tsp of mamralade.

Add 2 small knobsof butter and season.

fold the foil over and scrunch up 3 edges to bake a bag leaving 1 end open.

Pick up your bad and squeeze in the juice of the orange you grated earlier.

Seal up the final side of the bag and bake in the oven for 50 mins.

I am feeling Christmassy! I love Christmas so much, I have tree up, decorations and cards all around me. Lots of the Christmas food is around ready for all who are coming for Christmas. All the presents are wrapped and every morning the postman brings cards and parcels. DD is feeling poorly so we are snuggled up on the sofa and will be watching a Christmas film in a little while. No toning down of the celebrations for me. I am also very excited about DH's xmas present!

Must just be me then ?

Come on then Yanda what have you got your dh ?
