I really need to get something for my niece who is two and a half. Tim eis running out as I have to post abroad. I've got boys so no ideas. I think her mum mentioned HSM but is that for older kids?? If not I've seen dolls on Amazon but who is the popular one?

Any suggestions very greatfully accepted.

Disney princess things might be better

Ninkynorkstuckinthexmastree · 14/12/2008 23:37

Delay it as long as you can! Girlie Disney is much more appropriate. My DD, (8) loves the new Tinkerbelle film and would still adore any merch / dolls even though her classmates like HSM.

Right I'm off to look up Disney princess.

An antidote, quick, before it's too late!

Seriously though, I agree that Disney is probably better.

I would have thought it a little unusual for a 2.5 yo to be 'into' HSM - although they can probably sing the songs well . There is a HSM microphone that my dd (5) has that she loves.

I cannot stand disney princess and luckily after a brief love affair with Aurora, both my older dd's went off princesses rapidly, lol.
That said, my 5yo does love Tinkerbell and I must admit that she's rather lovely .

How about something like this or these are gorgeous!
...and this is a lovely twist on guess who for disney lovers

To my utter dismal dispair I have looked at HSM stuff on amazon.

I feel dirty, soiled and irrevocably scarred by chewing gum teenagers.

you could get this

boak

or this

shudder

or even this...

Vomit

Desiderata · 15/12/2008 00:51

She's two and a half. Buy her zilch, because she won't remember anyway.

Who are you trying to impress here

PlonkerTeatowelOnTheirHeads · 15/12/2008 00:51

roffle at the sharpay wig

ramonaquimby · 15/12/2008 09:11

think it's quite sad that a 2.5 year old would be 'into ' HSM poor thing is probably told that she likes it by her mum

Yanda · 15/12/2008 12:59

Gosh, my 2.5 year old hasn't got a clue what HSM is, she isn't "into" anything - she quite likes princesses and faries, but will gnerally play with whatever is to hand. I'm quite shocked by the idea of a 2.5 year being into HSM actually- does she have older siblings she is copying?

pickupthismess · 15/12/2008 13:47

Thanks for all your suggestions. She has lots of dressing up stuff already so pretty as they are, I think I'll have to leave tinkerbell though maybe the slippers.

I love that musical sharpay wig - almost tempted myself?

BTW I know I am the last person in the country to know but what the hell is HSM? Like posters say it seems a bit old for younger ones. Is it a series?

Am still open to other suggestions.

High School Musical is a wildly successful Disney movie (there have been 3) with a great deal of spin off products. Aimed at tweenagers really, and younger than that. Music is quite catchy! Have bought dd who is 7, the first 2 movies for xmas. Think she is the last 7 year old alive who hasn't seen them, but she knows the songs !
