It was always on at Christmas when I was growing up. Diana Dors as a wicked drunk and the scary beautiful daughter Bella. Love it.

I thought I'd get it for DD but apparently it was a very limited DVD release and is between £70-£100 on Amazon and eBay

Is it worth me buying a copy of the Radio / T.V Times to see if it's on this year, or do they not exist these days?

I think you can check listings on www.digitalspy.co.uk. My mum loved this film and I remember watching it with her and being spooked- and how they wave goodbye to the audience in the final credits

My sister has it on dvd! I don't think I do...

I loved it growing up (with the coat that was in Railway Children too).

DH says that our ISP is a "very cautious" about BitTorrent and it doesn't appear to be on this year but I present for your pleasure;

It was an even better book! I loved it. My DD has just read my old copy and she loved it too.

Out of print, sadly, but copies do turn up second-hand. It's by Antonia Barber and the original title was "The Ghosts". Then it was reprinted as "The Amazing Mr Blunden" after the film came out, surprise, surprise.
