Muppet's Christmas Carol with me in a bit am I???

I want to watch it. It makes me feel festive.

Flamechick however doesn't want to "I saw the pirate one and didn't like that"

To be fair, I am with her on that, Muppet's Treasure Island does NOTHING for me, but c'mon - how can you NOT want to bounce round singing "There's magic in the air this evening, magic in the air...."

It has to be better than the Christmas film i'm wathing on Movies 24 it has kelsey Grammar in it as 'Mr St Nick'. It's dire but sort of festive i'm back off to watch it again now only came upstairs to get changed after ds2 puked all over me.

Ooh I love it. DD is taking it into schooll to watch with her class on Thursday. But we part company on the Pirate one - Love it! Especially the songs.

FrostytheSurfmum · 13/12/2008 15:54

Sometimes they just have to do as they're told.

We went to see Polar Express at the cinema this morning (did you know it's £1 a seat Tower Park for the Empire Juniors showing). When the song "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" (M&S ad) played all the children sang along! It was very funny but lovely too.

BTW I still have your scarf - you'd better email me your address so I can post it to you.

roundcornvirgin · 13/12/2008 15:55

I love that film!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 13/12/2008 16:30

Well we got 45 mins in, then DS did something to the controller and it is refusing to play

Polar express at cinema sounds good! Don't suppose you're about Weds morning are you Surfer?

Kelsey Grammar is not full of Christmas cheer, he's Sideshow Bob! (and Frasier of course)

Funny, one of my RL friends said that today was 'putting up decorations with Muppets Christmas Carol' day. She doesn't even have kids. YANBU at all. It's Christmas!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 13/12/2008 17:27

I normally put them up watching it too

I got myself a copy the other day, finally.

I however am saving it for playing while I wrap the pressies (ergo, on my own), rather than suffer the kiddies talking thru it!

tissy · 13/12/2008 17:57

YANBU I got it tucked away for Christmas Eve

tissy · 13/12/2008 17:58

I adore Muppet Christmas Carol, DD claims to be scared of it (though is currently happily watching animated but still slightly dark Batman). We did finally have the conversation I'd been expecting since we swapped the video version for a DVD ... Mummy, why is the rat crying? Because Disney decided to cut a really crucial scene so the story makes NO SENSE, grr.

Young Scrooge being dumped by Belle - it cuts straight from him telling her he loves her, and her replying 'You did, once' to him walking off and Rizzo sitting with Gonzo Charles Dickens, crying. It misses the song 'When Love Has Gone'. On the plus side, it means I only humiliate myself by crying once during the movie (Tiny Tim), but it does make zero sense.

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 13/12/2008 18:59

That song is insanely dull for small children though

Ah, we switched from video to DVD some time before DD was subjected to the film, so I wouldn't know.

Just watched this with DS, he enjoyed the songs, but found Marley & Marley 'too scary'.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 13/12/2008 21:46

I watched it too it was on channel 5!

FlamesparodyOfAChristmasName · 13/12/2008 22:31

I can't believe I stopped cos the dvd went wrong, and it was ON at the same time!

TinselianAstra · 13/12/2008 23:06

I've just watched The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which is fairly Christmassy.

LedodgyChristmasjumper · 14/12/2008 00:14

I was going to come upstairs to tell you as well but just assumed you'd realise!

CharleeInPantoPaperChains · 14/12/2008 09:56

My kids have already watched it twice and they will be watching it again xmas eve so there! I luuurrrvvveee the MCC!

queenrollo · 14/12/2008 12:22

ds got bored after about 20 mins and demanded something else on instead. DP is a film snob (although he loves It's a Wonderful Life, so we're saving that for Christmas Eve)......
i can't wait for mid-week when i can indulge my love for Christmas films without interuption!
