Top tips for great deals - what have you found cheap recently?

I spotted a few threads where people have found a great deal amongst all the early sales.

How about we combine them here?

Mine so far:

Check your email for promotional codes before you shop. I got stung with a Tesco shop when an hour later I noticed I had an unread email offering half price delivery

Wilkinsons have buy 2 get 1 free Christmas decorations.

Tesco are doing half price Party food, you could buy it now and freeze for nearer the time or for New Year?

My other top tip - don't enter a Woolies store with a pushchair, you will get stuck solid in the crowd for at least an hour and all you will want to buy is a cheap set of crayons for DD

Go to Lidl - yummy stollen, marzipan, Baileys rip-off etc., all very cheap.

sainsburys had gorgeous chocolate santas / snowman on bogof yesterday £2.92 for two, wrapped in cellophane - much better than a selection box for the stocking.

our GAP also had 1/2 price gloves, hats and scarfs for the dcs - all funky colours etc.

Asda have some wines at 3 for £10. Some of the wines are £8 a bottle, so £24 of wine for a tenner.
