We were up in Scotland a few weeks ago, and got presents for us and the Dcs from my mum. They were presents from her and step dad to us and the Dcs and ones from idiot my brother.
Every single time she is on the phone (which is almsot a daily occurenceBTW) she says "Ih hope you haven't lost those presnts and you will remember where you put them and remember to put them under the tree. Won't you"
Every time I say no I haven't lost them they are in the cupboard. and she replies "are you sure".

Argh

lol

My mum has asked for my,DH and DD's xmas lists daily since about Nov!
Ive given her a few ideas but still insists on asking "in case ive though of something else" then moans if I have nothing new to add.

Gets very frustrating, especially as she give me no ideas for her when asked.

She drives me nuts!

Not only do I have to give everyone a comprehensive list of what DH and the DCs might like, I also have to provide my own list. Why can't they ask DH? Even he asked me last night!!
I am fresh OUT of ideas, "OK"????

I gave her some ideas, she ignored them and bought them something. They are now wrapped and in teh cupboard upstairs. She is obsessed with the fact that I might lose them. How? How am I going to lose them in a cupboard?

Now that would really annoy me! I'd be tempted to say you've forgotten where you'd put them just to see her reaction. [evil grin]

NotQuiteCockney · 12/12/2008 18:40

It sounds like she hasn't noticed you are now an adult. We get this sort of treatment from the ILs. It's exhausting.

PortAndStilton · 12/12/2008 18:49

Phone her daily (ideally, phone her answering machine when you know she's out) and say "Hello MIL, it's saltire, just ringing to tell you that I haven't lost the presents; they're still in the cupboard next to the broken hairdryer. I'll give you another update tomorrow..."

SparklyTinselBella · 12/12/2008 18:49

The idiot can't be your brother.

That's my brother.

Next question?

Oh, and I'd do what Fattipuff suggests...

magicofchristmas · 13/12/2008 00:52

Have you checked to make sure you lifted all of them?

I'm wondering if she's asking to see how long it will be before you notice you left one behind

magicofchristmas · 13/12/2008 00:53

...

skrimbo · 13/12/2008 00:55

Tell her you have all opened them early to make sure nothing gets lost .

SHHHHsantaiscoming · 13/12/2008 13:59

is she not testing you....

Are you SURE they are in the cupboard btw and you didn't leave them there .
