I suspect my DS1 (aged 8) and his friend have been rifling through the bags of presents tonight which I had cleverly hidden in the ensuite bathroom of our spare room (nobody EVER goes in there - except guests obviously - so thought it was absolutely safe). Anyway, his friend was over to play and I come upstairs to find guest room door open. Both kids look guilty as hell and swear blind all they did was look in the bedroom. Fast forward 20 minutes and I ask DS1 what he would like to buy another friend for his birthday tomorrow. DS1 replies "oh an Indiana Jones hat and whip". Tis the same gift that is sat on the top of the pile of presents currently residing in the guest bathroom.

Am furious. I know all kids do this at some stage but I just feel so sad that all his Christmas surprises are ruined now .

No offence, but you only have yourself to blame. Kids are always going to rummage and the guest ensuite is a rubbish hiding place.

On the plus side Christmas will still be lovely.

Agree with TheCrackFox! You should have wrapped them all as you brought them into the house! But you never know, maybe he only saw that one present!

you need to have a partner who is a postie we wrapped the kids presants and put on our wardrobe when kids spotted them we said it was something another mummy brought round for dp to deliver to her on xmas eve seems to have worked they havent mentioned it since

Ahhh, see, my bedroom is in such a mess that the cupboard that is hiding ds' gifts is blocked by about 12 boxes of random stuff. Infact, he'll be lucky if even gets to rumage on Christmas Day!!!
