what is the best construction related toy your ds has?

DS is 3.8yrs and wants nothing but diggers. He has loads. Are there any construction toys/sets etc that your ds's have loved and played with more than anything?

we've just bought our almost 3yo a marble run (a quadrilla wooden one).
he likes diggers, and trains and can spend hours playing with them.
it's his b-day next week so i could give update then on how he liked it...

yes please i woudl like an update for train obsessed loving toddler

y'know I've been thinking about a marble run- looks fun! But the ones I've seen are expensive and because I don't know how much he'll use it, I'm not sure. Oh and having a crawling 7mth old isn't a good combination either!

We were going to get some lego, the really small stuff for 5yr + because he has a lego digger and has just started making it into all sorts of things. Then my mum said she had some that was my younger brother and brought over 3 boxes of the stuff! He LOVES it.

ah lego. yes that's one of my ds-s favourites too. just make sure that our 7mo doesn't go anywhere near it though... (on the 5+ ones there's some really tiny parts).

Day trip to Diggerland ?

I assume you have the book Dig Dig Digger? Pretty sure there's an audio CD version too.

The ELC marble run was reduced to a tenner a fortnight ago.
