What do you buy for the woman who does nothing?

..by which I mean she has no interests, hobbies, social life, anything to hang a present idea on.....she does work, in a supermarket, and lives with her parents.

This is my SIL. She is 41. Through lack of time and energy on DH's part and the fact that I refuse to keep picking up the pieces for him we didn't get her a birthday present either.

So now I need 2 presents for the woman who does nothing..... All inspiration welcome.

Cross stitch?

Dating Agency membership?

Vouchers for hairdresser/clothes?

Something to inspire her towards a little self-advancement... make-up? A gift voucher for a spa?

leave it to your dh - you made a good start with the birthday present, so why relent now?
But I agree, tokens would be a good bet.

She sounds like a perfect match for the bloke that used to live next door to us in our rented place tbh.

She does nothing?

Ignoring the bitterness. I'd suggest a lovefilm subscription and a beauty treatment voucher.

MissB - we always seem to end up giving her jumpers (she is always cold) or similar - and DH seems to think we could only get away with tokens for one of the two presents.

Elliott - I know. I am still holding firm in principle but in practice Christmas is harder - we didn't see her near her b'day, but I will have to face SIL being stoically disappointed and MIL being resentful all day on Boxing Day if when DH ends up getting nothing - again.

Whose bitterness, TDWP - not mine, I hope - I am not bitter, just desperate for ideas. Lovefilm is a good one - she does watch a lot of DVDs.

Yeah, I agree the lovefilm idea is inspired
Personally I wouldn't get make up or beauty treatment unless you know her tastes - I'd be pretty insulted and disappointed to get something along these lines!
