My oldest and, at one time, closest friend is my problem this year. She is 40 (very young 40) really lovely person, also got a fantastic figure etc., etc.,!!!! Just trying to give you abit of background info lol!
Anyway......we used to be really close but kind of lost touch over the last year or so, we still see each other as she only lives a little way from me, but you know what its like with busy lives etc., i just seem to have lost touch about what she is 'in' to and her style etc.,
Any ideas?? I know she likes Cath Kidston but thats not terribly exciting!!
Any help would be great!

Is she a mum?, what about a organised mums diary in a lovely leather cover (they have the covers reduced to a fiver)

ramonaquimby · 07/12/2008 23:06

no, those diaries are awful!!

what about a mag subscription to something?

skrimbo · 07/12/2008 23:22

LOL ok I love mine, it is the only thing that keeps me sane, but I suppose a diary is a personal thing and what suits someone makes no sense to another, so OK bad choice.

cherryontopofthexmastree · 07/12/2008 23:30

how about a gorgeous top from ann summers?

skrimbo · 07/12/2008 23:32

I really hope you are taking the piss.

Kelix · 07/12/2008 23:40

lol at some of the 'gift' ideas

could you take her out somewhere? to see a show/band that shes into? something you could do together that way you can catch up and spend some time together? two bird with one stone kind of thing? you could always get her a token gift to open on christmas day aswel, something inexpensive?

either that or buy her some wetlook leggins

cherryontopofthexmastree · 07/12/2008 23:47

no, they have got some really pretty tops in the new range. not underwear like at all, i am a rep so i see things in the catalogue that they dont get in the shops

OLIVIASMAMA · 07/12/2008 23:48

Blossommine, Why not make up a hamper, Just with little things e.g nail varnish, nail varnish dryer (it comes in a can) hand cream a magazine and this years fav with me an old jam jar, tinsel around the top with 'Roses' chocolates enough to enjoy but not enough to spoil a diet. Maybe even some home made biscuits (another fav with me this year)

TurquoiseNicki · 09/12/2008 10:24

You sound like a really kind friend, to go to so much trouble to find out what she would really like. I reckon she will be delighted with most things you would choose - decent chocs, anything beautifully wrapped etc - just because we are all busy and you have taken the trouble to go out and choose something and dropped it round to her to wish her 'Happy Christmas'. Don't fret too much!!

blossomsmine · 10/12/2008 14:38

Thanks turquoisenicki you know you are quite right, i am fretting about this too much, silly really cos as you all say i am sure she will be pleased with any surprise she gets that she wasn't expecting!
Just to let you all know.....I think i am going with a small hamper (which i will wrap really nicely) so far i am putting in cashmere socks (cheaper ones from m&s!!) some lovely tie side knickers they were showing on This Morning during the week (i know i am so sad watching that programme lol!) going to go for nail varnish and the dryer (thanks starbear). Then i am not sure about anything else but hoping something will jump out at me when i am late night shopping tomorrow!
Thanks again
