Mine is so unbearable and grumpy about Christmas even though I do it all for the dc's sake (I could live without it). Do any of you have a dh like mine and do you just ignore him and get on with the festivities or is it worth getting into a fight about, nagging etc?

mine is absolutely like that and we generally have an annual festive row about it. Fun fun fun... not. I get really pissed about it.

Me, me, me!!

We went to get a tree today (real one!) and he got moody cos we had to go for a smaller than usual one because of prices this year. Its not tiny tho its still a good size!

Then he moaned about the lights. Then the kids were too excited for his liking, its Xmas so understandable!

He won;t sit and watch Xmas movies with us. Hasn't bought any presents at all. I even bought my own for him to wrap. Altho may even end up wrapping it myself too!

I told him to bugger off earlier cos it was getting to me and I don't want it to, for the sake of the 3 children. As you say, its all for them and I can make myself enjoy it all for them!!!!!

DH was like it last year, but seems to have cheered up a bit this year. Offered to get tree and deccies down tomorrow - last year Ib had to threaten going up to the loft to get them myself (and I was 4months PG). That's the only reason the house was decorated before 24th Dec.
He likes deccies down by 27th too. I try and hold out until 6th Jan!

I think at some point we just have to keep them topped up with alcohol and hope it makes them a tiny bit jolly! Glad to know I'm not the only one anyway.

Mine is fine as long as I tell him how to behave! seriously though he had a very controlled childhood and finds celebrations difficult

Mine was brought up in a muslim country - that's his excuse , but they have great festivals too like Eid so he definately knows the feeling of looking forward to the speacial day as a child, he's just a great big bah humbug.
