I haven't seen either of these films... would 15 year old and adults enjoy them too?

Definately Elf! Very funny, and has a good feel-good vibe. Will Ferrell is hilarious in it.

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is always my fave too, but it's very early 90s and may not appeal to today's teens.

Fred Claus is quite good.

Or It's a wonderful life is a classic

Bad Santa is superb - but you may not wish your 11 year old to see it! Depends on how liberal you are with him.

I would echo The Nightmare Before Christmas. Elf is great but if the teen is going through even a vaguely teenage-cynicism phase he/she may not appreciate it as it is totally daft and childish!
