Having promised that 'santa' would bring a PSP, (thinking they were £70 when it turns out they are £150 ) I have had another look and it seems they may be something you use with a PS3

Which he doesn't have

Now, is this the greatest christmas fuck up in the history of the world, and I now need to get him a ps3 as well or can you play games on a psp without having a ps3?

AARRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH

they are a seperate thing AFAIK. Much cheaper than ps3. Try Game for preowned maybe.

here

scorpio1 · 07/12/2008 20:41

you get psp games, no ps3 needed.

thank you. christmas is getting fecking expensive.

I long for the days when they didn't give a stuff what they got, as long as it was smashable!

It is just an independent handheld thing, the sony equivalent of nintendo's DS. DH has one and it is stand alone, needing only games to go with it.

just went to that site.

what do I get, what do I get? 3000, lite??? What's the difference? Which is best?

Is that site safe? It's not like ebay is it? Only my sister just got ripped off to the tune of £150 on ebay and I am totally put off buying from individuals! It's a proper shop, yes?

I was advised that the slim and lite was not as robust as the 'original' psp. We've stuck with the original model, which he loves. You'll need to buy a memory chip to go into it (pauses to inspect psp in front of self!) I got a 2gb memory stick much cheaper from amazon than in the games shop.

(the simpsons thingy in the offer above is the movie rather than the game, I think - my lad loves the simpsons games and is hoping for lego batman for his psp for Christmas).

Lego starwars or indiana jones are pretty surefire winners too.

scorpio1 · 07/12/2008 20:54

Game is a full on proper shop, yes. Lego batman fab, agree.

scorpio1 · 07/12/2008 20:55

another deal same shop

hecAteAMillionMincePies · 07/12/2008 20:55

original, is that the 3000? or a different one altogether?
and I need a memory chip? See, I didn't know that either!

Is there anything else you need to buy for it?

if I give someone the money will they just sort it all out for me and turn up on xmas eve with it?!

Got DH's ps3, games and boys DS's from that site, all fine.

bramblebooks · 07/12/2008 21:02

I think that the 3000 is the souped up version of the original psp - it's what I'd replace it with if his 'original' one died, rather than the slim and lite. I get loads from that company, online and in the high street.

idobelieveinsanta · 08/12/2008 13:46

The 3000 has got a built in camera thingy...not sure about it though..and also a built in microphone for if they want to play on-line with it..thats the difference from the original slim & lite ones.

I got dt's yesterday from HMV £122 with free fifa 09 games.

hecAteAMillionMincePies · 10/12/2008 17:43

well thanks folks. I got the psp - original chunky one! from cash generators (with memory thingie and a game) plus a digital camera for my other son, for less that the price of a new psp alone! So I'm chuffed.
