We went to see Santa at Leeds Castle yesterday. Good fun and DS came away with a cuddly dinasour.

Did today. Dd came out and did a lap of honour at full pelt twice round the waiting queue with her arms outstretched above her head. Think she enjoyed the experience

TheVirginGoober · 07/12/2008 19:55

Yes.
They are 9. 12 and 14.
We are going on 22nd December.

dylsmum1998 · 07/12/2008 20:13

we are going on christmas eve to see santa on the steam trains. did this last year they loved it. they get to be one of the last children to see him as we go on the very last train of the day before he goes home to ave his dinner

NorbertDentressAngel · 07/12/2008 20:16

We went to see Father Christmas at the school Christmas Fayre -we queued for about 30mins then, just as we were called in to see him, DS (4) got scared, burst into tears and wouldn't go anywhere near him.

squeakypop · 07/12/2008 20:17

No, it's not what Christmas is about.

theITgirl · 07/12/2008 20:19

You will make me cry again
see here

deaconblue · 07/12/2008 20:22

we are going in a fortnight's time to see Santa on a steam train. I think Thomas will be there too and suspect ds will be more impressed with him. He's 2 1/2

lillychristmaspuddingandpie · 07/12/2008 20:24

Bah humbug squeekypop

dylsmum1998 · 07/12/2008 20:27

shoppingbags- which steam trains are you going to? we are going to KESR

ChirpyGrinch · 07/12/2008 20:28

Are you going on teh Avon Valley dyksmum?
We are staying near there for a fmily weekend with my siblings and partners and mum so we are going on the train to see him.
DD's are 1.2 and 2.10. I have a feeling it may be more for my sister's benefit and not theirs....

ChirpyGrinch · 07/12/2008 20:31

dylsmum
Sorry!

kyrasmummy · 07/12/2008 20:31

DD saw him at the school fayre, and afterwards told me, it was MR xxxxx the school gardener and she knew his voice, she's 4.4

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 07/12/2008 20:39

we do usually but dh is only off on thurs now and then thats it till christmas...he has suggested keeping ds in reception offschool on thurs to take themall but im not sure...

dylsmum1998 · 07/12/2008 20:40

ah didnt think i remebered seeing Thomas last christmas when we went!
shame but the children loved it all the same. mine are 2.5 and 10 this year. we went last year when dd was 1.5 and she loved it then, think it was more the trains he loved admittedly and the carousel she's horse and train mad!!

deaconblue · 08/12/2008 20:33

we are going on the Nene Valley Railway. Was lovely last year and now we have dd to take along too

theITgirl · 09/12/2008 21:25

I am so sorry kyrasmummy. Would she buy the line Santa has lots of helpers who do the grotto's etc BUT sometimes its the real one. Also Isn't Mr X so special to be one of his helpers.

SantaKLAWs · 10/12/2008 18:14

I'll be taking DD (3) to see Santa at Glamis Castle again this year. They do a lovely grotto and it's much nicer than the dept store/shopping mall type things that make me cringe now

Colonelcupcake · 14/12/2008 19:49

I took my eldest ds to see father christmas (2) he screamed and wouldn't go within 2m of him
