Dh's 20yo brother and his gf will be with us over Christmas as part of their 'doing Europe'. We are going to get them Oyster cards and the Time Out London guidefor here. Any ideas on smallish things they could open on Xmas day? Needs to be consumable/able to fit in rucksack.

Also what's the cheapest way to call home?

TIA

Download skype. It's free and we use that to call OZ.

As for gifts how about something from Harrods or Selfridges food halls? Don't know what your buget it though. I take it you are in London?

Budget small.

Yes, am in London though can't face Central London in December . Is there anything Aussies think of as 'very British' but hard to get there? (eg Hersheys for US) Can be corny! (he is half-bro so we don't really know him yet)

Skype good idea, thanks.

Maybe a jar of vegemite to make them feel at home - i think most supermarkets carry it. Maybe a jar of marmite also, so they can do a taste comparison for fun??

How about a thermos flask for those wintry walks in the park? GF would probably appreciate a pretty, warm, wrap to use as scarf, blanket, all purpose travelling cloth. Or tickets for something at Royal Albert Hall, National Theatre etc... experiences are always good.
