We watched the Santa Clause movie last night and dd (who is 4) loved it. Dd2 liked it but she is only 2.5 so got a little bored towards the end. Dd1 wants to watch it again today.

Snowman

Will watch this thread for ideas. I too have a DD who is nearly 4 and I would like a Xmas movie for her to watch, along with her 7 yo brother.

My son loved the polar express cos he was train crazy. The bit about not believing in father xmas sort of washes over them at that age.

Mine love The Snowman and The Polar Express - really christmassy!

got to be Polar Express, it is magical and we now have it as a bit of a christmas tradition, we watch it on christmas eve

Trizelda · 07/12/2008 20:01

Snowman...although a little boy at my daughter's nursery started crying when he melted (hope that didn't ruin the plot for anybody!)

ChristmasDisco · 07/12/2008 20:25

I like the Mickey Mouse Christmas ones. We watched Home Alone last night and they enjoyed that.

DreamingOfMincePiesInAustria · 07/12/2008 20:33

It has to be The Santa Clause, mine watched it for the 1st time on Christmas eve when they were 6 and 4 and loved it.

tillergirl · 07/12/2008 20:39

Polar Express is wonderful. We love Frosty, Rudolph and, of course the ORIGINAL Grinch. Mickey's Xmas Carol is a hit too...oh, and Mr Beans' Xmas...mine are 7, 4 and 2. Happy Christmas to all from snowy Nova Scotia x

DreamingOfMincePiesInAustria · 07/12/2008 20:41

Happy Christmas Tillergirl - loads of snow here in Austria today too.

Another vote for The Snowman (and Father Christmas, also by Raymond Briggs - you can get them both on DVD together on Amazon for £7).

ds (3.5yrs) was watching miracle on 34th street tonight and got quite up upset cause people were not believing that santa was real. Would advise not to watch this one!!!!

jellybeans · 07/12/2008 22:21

polar express

DontCallMeSantaBaby · 07/12/2008 22:29

The Snowman and Father Christmas both good - although DD was terrified of the false teeth scene in The Snowman at nearly 3, and at nearly 4 spent the festive season wishing people a "merry bloomin' Christmas".

Muppet Christmas Carol is my favourite, but Disney cut the DVD version.

SuperBunny · 07/12/2008 22:31

DS (3.3) loves the Snowman. I cry at the end but he doesn't.

Baffies · 07/12/2008 22:37

my boy cried the end too (he was 2) I didnt even think he was watching it

skrimbo · 07/12/2008 23:07

Not miricle on 34th street opens up too many questions, as I discovered tonight .

OLIVIASMAMA · 07/12/2008 23:43
