How many cards do you get that you have no idea who they are from?

Every year we get quite a few, up to 10 or so, they are signed with a first name and there's no return address on the envelope. Sometimes we don't know who it's from because we know lots of people with that name, and sometimes we just don't recognise the name. It's easier if it's from a couple, but even then we usually get at least one that we don't know who the couple are.

Our very first card this year arrived today and it's an unknown (from Graham, I don't know any Grahams and DH knows a fair few).

Yep - we usually get a couple.

There's always one we can't decipher, and one from a couple we don't recognise at all.

More frustrating though are ones like the couple we met on holiday several years ago. We exchanged Christmas cards for a while, then for a couple of years we didn't get one from them.

Third year we decided we'd, quite reasonably, been culled, so didn't send them one either.

Fast forward a couple more years, and out of the blue we suddenly get a card from them - all chatty and informative.

And of course, we'd changed address books, and didn't include theirs, so had no way of sending a card back.

Pah!

We always get one sent addressed to someone we don't know but at our address. It's not a previous occupant as we checked with our neighbours. Checked the phone book in case the sender has the address incorrect but no-one with the surname. The sender never puts their return address on the envelope so have no way of letting them know they are sending it to the wrong address.
