Where can I find, online, some sort of fishing related gift for Mum's DH? Sort of a fishy mug or box or something <vague>

if he is posh huntin shootin fishin type a shop called farlows in london www.farlows.co.uk is full of utterly tedious and obscure fishing kit/books about fishing/fishing memorabilia that my fishing FIL loves. or subscription to The Field magazine.
if he is more flat cap angling type dont go for equipment as you'll get the wrong thing but something like nice new thermos/lunchbox if he goes out for the day for it, or gloves etc? or again a book about fishing? or (depending how much you want to spend but is handy if he brings millions of fish back and your mum is fed up with a freezer full of trout) you can get little smokers for smoking his own fish?
(can you tell i've had years of having to come up w ith fishing related presents...)

MadamDeathstarOverBethlehem · 06/12/2008 21:32

How much do you want to spend? Halcyon Days did a fish enamel box a few years ago. There might be one on ebay.

PottyCock · 06/12/2008 21:41

what about one of those fish corkscrews? my dad's a fishing fiend too, so sympathise, it's always such a nightmare trying to find him some blloming hares face/ special wings/ rubberised troos etc. It's like stepping into the twilight zone of shopping.

PottyCock · 06/12/2008 21:46

oh, they appear to be 'no longer available' wherever you look, maybe they don't make 'em any more.

Drusilla · 06/12/2008 21:52

DH is a fisher and last year I bought him some heated gloves Lots of places online sell different varieties. But he does the sort of fishing which seems to involve sitting in exactly the same position for about ten hours and freezing his bollocks off

PottyCock · 06/12/2008 21:54

yep my dad too .

he's so obsessed he's been the international champ .

my poor mum.
