...what would you like to be in it?

Have been looking at the Splat cooking site, but it's just an embarrassment of riches & I'm indecisive at the best of times.

Thanks

Choc and Orange
Cinnamon
Lemon

Yum

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 04/12/2008 22:50

Nice cases - silver or gold ones always make them look special. Things for decorating - maybe some colour paste and gubbins to stick on top. Or a silicon mould to make fancy shapes.

harpomarx · 04/12/2008 22:51

have no idea what the specialist tools of a cupcake maker might consist of.... bunting maybe?

PuzzYuleLogs · 04/12/2008 22:57

Doh, clearly didn't read the thread properly. I always have food on my mind.

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 04/12/2008 23:00

Harpo
You need:
A PINK Kitchenaid mixer
A Cath Kidston apron
Heart-shaped cake-tins
and
An appealing dab of flour on the end of your cute button nose

harpomarx · 04/12/2008 23:05

at LGP. That's you, that is!

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 04/12/2008 23:05

Yes, guffaw away, I know...

It's for my shopaholic cunting-bupcakey SiL though.

ok, now I have the picture... how about a gorgeous cake stand?

this sort of thing

jenk1 · 04/12/2008 23:08

aaaaaaaaah Jenk dreams of a pink kitchenaid,!!!

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 04/12/2008 23:09

The cake stand is great Harpo, but do they have it in pink?

TheMoistWorldOfSeptimusQuench · 04/12/2008 23:25

Ooh, nice cake stand.

Well, knowing you lot weren't going to make much sense , I have bought:

  • Sugar violets
  • Sugar daisies
  • Edible lilac stars
  • Sivler & gold cases
  • Pink spotty cases
  • An icing sugar shaker
  • A mini spatula
  • A set of natural colours
  • Heart, star & crescent moon shaped cookie cutters

Twee enough?

Wish someone would spend so much effort thinking of something for me! Sounds absolutely lovely (from a newly converted baking addict )

stealthsquiggle · 04/12/2008 23:31

Can I be your friend, Septimus [needy]?

I would so love to receive that lot. Edible glitter would be cool as well. My best friend gave me a stackable cooling rack last year. She understands me .

FabioTheLiterateCat · 04/12/2008 23:37

fairy cakes

grr

And it's not easy for a cat to grrrr y'know.

Are you a septic, moisty?

stealthsquiggle · 04/12/2008 23:41

Fabio - aren't cupcakes just American super-sized fairy cakes?

FabioTheLiterateCat · 04/12/2008 23:47

No, that's muffins.
Fairy cakes is fairy cakes.
The septics double their size by dolloppping on a pound of butter icing andthat.

BUT

they're fairy cakes
AMericans call them cupcakes because they can't speak English proper like what we can.

stealthsquiggle · 04/12/2008 23:51

OK. Point taken.

I still want to be Septimus' friend and get pressies like that. I will call the resulting baked things whatever pleases everyone concerned.

seeker · 05/12/2008 00:07

Edible glitter.

In lots of different colours.

I have just made 50 cup/fairy cakes in silver cases, with white icing, pink sugar roses and silver glitter. They look wonderful.

A silicone mould to make the sugar roses is fabbio fab too. I can direct you to a good ebay store for them if you like - nice friendly seller who didn't get stroppy when he sent me a recorded delivery package and I forgot to collect it from the post office!

stealthsquiggle · 05/12/2008 00:10

Seeker can we be each other's friends and thereby justify buying such essential stuff as presents ?

Can I have that link, pretty please?

PortAndStilton · 05/12/2008 00:13

Some edible glitters -- a little sprinkle looks sooooo good on other people's cupcakes etc. but I have never quite been able to justify buying them for myself.

janeite · 05/12/2008 17:00

Oh that all sounds so lovely; will you be my friend too?

I would also like: some vanilla pods and some proper lemon and vanilla extract please.

MamaHobgoblin · 05/12/2008 18:16

cough someofthatisalreadyinmycupboard

Mmm. If I were twee enough to ask for cupcakey excesses at Christmas, I would put these on my wishlist:

-these
How Bunty are they? And I bet you run through them fast, better get me two lots.
-Assorted sugar daisies, forget-me-nots etc.
-Coloured sugar sprinkles
-gold cupcake cases
-some outre or obscure cookie cutters (I'm still searching for one shaped like the Millenniu, Falcon - I know it exists, I've seen it.)

ahem. Not that I'd be that Bunty.

MamaHobgoblin · 05/12/2008 18:17

Millenium Falcon, naturally.

MamaHobgoblin · 05/12/2008 18:18

Oh ffs. It has two 'n's as well as the missing M.

Going to have a drink now.

ComeOVeneer · 05/12/2008 18:19

Mamahobgoblin, I have spent a small (actually pretty large) fortune on that site.
