Asked ds today

What amusing Christmas related gems have your dcs come up with?

My particular fav is from a teacher about the innkeeper in the school nativity. When asked if there was room at the Inn he replied

"Yes,come in!!"

Our 7 year old was reading from the school play lyrics and confidently said that Jesus was born in a manager bed.

If he travels at relativistic speeds (which he'll have to do in order to visit all those houses in one night) then he'll shrink in size while moving, from the frame of reference of a chimney or a small child.

Show him the film the Santa Clause - the 1st one, as it shows radiators and small fireplaces transforming into really big traditional fireplaces!

dd 2 came out with 'santa's little helper' while pointing at the UPS van today

Apparantly we are laying a "santa trap" this year - flour sprinkled all over the hall as he comes through the letter box in our house! I better get the wellies out and make some reindeer feet potato shapes !!! hope I dont get too sozzled like the tooth fairy did and forgot! (she left the pound downstairs luckily)

DoesntChristmasDragOn · 04/12/2008 22:42

The reindeer don't come inside!

our santa has no problem getting down the chimney but the dc's have always been worried about the fire. He has magic dust to put the fire out of course.

WE got a book called "How Santa really Works" which explains that Santa is actually very thin, but wears a huge insulated suit to keep him warm, which he nips out of to sidle down the chimney. Or under doors!

It also explains the time zones thing, and how he planks loaded sleighs at various points to re-stock. Goes into detail about all the different jobs the elves do, and how Santa knows if you have been good- it's pretty comprehensive!

Santa isnt allowed to come in our house, hes got to phone DH,s mobile in the middle of the night, then DH opens the door, takes the presents off him, bangs the door shut (DD is insistent about this) and locks it so he cant get in.

she is a bit freaked about him since last year when he came to nursery!

theicepopqueen · 04/12/2008 23:02

he uses fairy dust, then he can get down any chimney
