Moved away from the area nearly 3 years ago so know my way round a little bit!! Carnaby street always used to be good - but is there anywhere that they are really pretty this year?

Also can anyone recommend somewhere nice, not expensive but not necessarily cheap to eat with a one yr old and 4 yr old. Not Giraffe - I'd like to go to somewhere I can't usually go to as it is my B day on Monday!

Also fingers crossed for us we make it as we have a vomiting baby today!!
TIA!!

Carnaby street has giany inflatable snowmen this year - really fun. Regent St is odd - nets with lights on. Candelabras on Oxford St hmmmmmm. Try the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park.

Wagamamas always good for the kids - not the one on Wigmore St as they 'don't seem to encourage children in there' (my best polite english there). The one on High St Ken is fab for kids and the staff are lovely. There is a Strada almost opposite and they do kids portions now.

Oh the inflatables sound good!! thank you, and I'll make sure we check out the winter wonderland, thank you.

Selfridges and Oxford St Debenhams have good window displays, Debenhams have moving reindeer doing different things.

There's always Rainforest Cafe for lunch but bit pricey...

I like Regent Street this year its got really pretty pink net lights from one side of the street to the next - Hamleys window is lovely too - New Bond Street looks really pretty too - massive big tree in Berkeley Square and of course Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park - you dont have to go on teh rides but at night loooks great - so on the whole West End all the way [fmsile]

Anyone know what the lights are like on South Molton St this year? They had the most fabulous giant angels last year - really gorgeous.

I think they are digging it up just now. Is the tree from Norway up in trafalger square yet?

Tomorrow Oxford St and Regent Street are traffic free.

oooo what a useful thread - ShelleyLou are taking our DS's to London on the 22nd (I know totally mad - 4 children under 8, 2 pushchairs that close to Christmas - but it's the only date that I knew we could both go and see Santa at Selfriges ). Going to make a day of it, including seeing the lights [grin
