There is no way I am braving the supermarkets in person in order to do my 'big' Christmas shop, so will be doing it online.

In our area, Sainsbury's will not deliver any later than 22nd Dec, but the latest slot I can get with them is 21st Dec in the evening.

Asda, however, can deliver to me on the evening of 23rd Dec.

I am more familiar with the Sainsbury's product range, therefore the shopping will be simpler and quicker.

Asda is cheaper, and I can get the food later in the week and therefore (one would hope) it will be fresher.

What shall I do? Please help! I seem to be incapable of making even the simplest of decisions.

go to www.mysupermarket.com and shop as you would at sainsburys but then switch it to asda.

Oh, tough one! I opted for 21st Dec from Sainsbos, because it was a more sensible time of day, but crumbled at the last minute and switched it to 10pm on 22nd! I figured, its almost the 23rd by then, so it would still be fresh!

I think we worry too much about food not staying fresh for long these days. Personally, I'd stick with the shop you know. Its all very well getting it cheaper and maybe fresher at Asda, but what happens when you can't get the stuff you are used to and you don't like it as much? Chirstmas ruined!

You could do most of the big shop with sainsburys and then go early in the morning on the 23rd to the shops. Would that work for you?

yes, kitten, or I could send DH to the shops which works even better for me
