I mean writing them, getting them is OK

I can't find the thread about whether it was OK to refrain from sending them so I'm asking again. Sorry.

Is it OK to send them only to people with whom you are still in regular contact? And family or I'd never hear the end of it
Writing cards is a chore I dread no to mention I have lost my address database when my old PC packed up.

Or is it too Scrooge-like?

We stopped doing most of them the year that we had DD. Instead, we sent an email to everyone wishing them a Merry Christmas, etc and telling them we weren't doing xmas cards that year but were giving a donation to a local children's hospice instead, which we did. We've done the same every year since. The only cards we do still send are to elderly relatives who really appreciate them.

i dont send any except to my mum and brother
no one seems to notice, and if they do, they dont really care

In a way, I'd rather send them to (and receive from) people I'm not in regular contact with - it's a nice way of catching up with old friends who you don't see v often.

We don't send them. We send an email and donate the amount I would have spent on cards to charity.

Can't send e-mails as I don't even have their e-mail addresses. Last time I spoke to some of them not many people has e-mail addresses . I'm not that good at keeping in touch....
