I need to organise a quiz for around 20-30 adults from a very wide range of backgrounds so need to have a really good mix of christmas questions so that a) it isn't prohibitively difficult
b) everyone stands a chance of being able to contribute an answer
c) I have done a quiz for the past 3 years so they probably know all my questions by now.

Can you all think of one question please? (and give me the answer too...)

And yes, name all of Santa's Reindeers is almost a tradition now

Re the Oliver Cromwell thing - it is still illegal to eat mince pies on Christmas Day, which is one of the Oliver Cromwell Laws which has never been rescinded.

Other bizarre Christmas legislation:

Having turkey this Christmas? You'd better think again and eat goose instead, as in 1588 Elizabeth I enacted a law making it an offense to eat any other bird on Xmas day.

And in case you were thinking of driving to church on Christmas Day: don't! According to the Holy Days and Fasting Days Act of 1551, which has not yet been repealed, everyone must attend church on Christmas Day on foot.
