Those of you with 10YO girls... is this a decent gift?

Every year at christmas there is a tree with all kids names in homes attached you take one and buy them a gift without knowing anything about them.

I picked a 10YO girl and bought a Kahuna watch, purse and necklace set for £15 from £25 and a Shaun the sheep diary, notebook, binder and pen set from a £10 to £3 and a little selection box.

Would you say okay? I dont know any girls this age but I think its a nice gift what do you reckon?

I'm not really I dont have much money but if I can spend £100 buying gifts fo family then I c £20 at christmas for a child who actually needs it

Season of goodwill and all, wish I could do more... but I like to think it cheers someone up even for an hour will be a tradition have not loong moved here but cant wait till DS is older and he can help pick for a little boy or girl nice tradition at christmas I think

that is a really lovely pressie, and my 10yo would be thrilled to receive it.

And I have to say, what a lovely idea. Who arranges it, do you know???

Think its the NCH well its their homes they go to.

Its just a christmas tree in the shopping centre with names hanging on it and pick one or 2...

Then buy a gift and donate it into the security guards who hand it into the local homes. A bit confusing reaL.

oh that is a lovely thing to do.

I am not sure I have seen anything like that down here, but I wish they did.....far better type of thing to do than the samaritans purse xmas boxes!
