So says DD1 (2.10) every time she sees the 3 foot cheapy crap Christmas tree she decorated all by herself earlier with decoraiotns that she chose.

I am having to force myself not to even out the decorations (3 on one branch! Aah!) or fiddle in any way, even though it looks like the pound shop threw up on it

Bless. My ds will prob be the same when we do his next week.
Where is your dd's tree?

ChirpyGrinch · 29/11/2008 13:52

On a table in a corner behind the coffee table barrier to stop DD2 getting to the telly and dvd player so DD1 can reach it by climbing on the sofa but DD2 can't.

I wasn't going to do a big one this year and was just going to put decoraitons hanging off the shelves and alcoves so the only thing they can 'possibly' get to is the very small tree!

Sweet!

My two boys decorate our tree every year. My dh puts the lights on and then we are banned to the kitchen whilst they work their magic. I really have to resist the urge to move the decorations and ornaments later.

I wouldn't change this little home-made tradition for the world even though my tree always looks lop-sided and like someone threw-up tinsel all over it.

The last few years I have done it all myself in the evening but I though I would let her have a go. She just went nuts and kept saying (on loop)
'Look at me! I am decorating a christmas tree!'

So I think I will let her do it every year!

Awww.

lol dd then 2.3 spent whole days rearranging the tree last year, her record was 12 baubles on one branch

they are so cute at that age

ChirpyGrinch · 30/11/2008 14:56

I have got some battery powered led lights now and when she turned them on she stood int eh middle of the room, put ehr head on one side and said
'I think I am clever for making that so pretty, Mummy'

Oh Bless. She sounds great.

And you are great for letting her - I am far too anal about my tree to let DS have free reign!

ChirpyGrinch · 30/11/2008 15:32

Buda, if it makes you feel better I haven't put my tree up yet, that will be going up when they are both asleep adn will be barricaded so little fingers can't move anything

I bought her a small one so it is obvious it iks hers and not indicative of my decorations!
