I truly wonder what goes thru teachers minds when they conjure up these things, I bet they laugh their butts off in the staff room over these... Oddly I wasn't the worst one, another kid has to be a mince pie!

What are the teachers thinking?

I dont know if it would work but if got two cream pillow cases, cut them length ways and sew up the long side, you could then stuff and sew them into a round arm-band like shape. This would give you 4 white fluffy arm-bands (2 plump legs & 2 plump wings/arms)

If you then got 2 pairs of thick ladies tights, put them on over on his legs and put a small pillow down belly. The other pair needs to be cut down the crouch seam (if you run clear nail varnish down the cut it wont run) and then use the two pieces as sleeves.

Then its just a case of making a big fan tale and paint it like feathers.

Im not sure what you would do about his head... face paints?

I dont know if this is look that you want, I think I would have tried to swap with the mince pie.

hope it helps

I just read that again...for a cooked turkey... if forget the feather tale and put two small white chefs hats on his feet.
sorry
good luck!!!

I have armed myself with some ideas (thank you Mrs B!) and pictures and will see teach after school today... total nightmare! I did check Ebay but they only have live turkeys!

Thanks Daisychain, think the pillow idea is a go-er... If this experience doesn't drive me to drink I don't know what will! Will have to get the teacher back with a really grotty Xmas present!

I have nothing of use to add, but just wanted to say that your thread title has cheered up my afternoon.

Why dont you get one of those v sad looking cooked baby chickens from the hot food counter at sainsburys/ tescos for teachers present?

dasiychain · 27/11/2008 19:53

Tell us how it goes with the pillows...if you get a chance.
Hope it all goes ok.
Good luck
