GOT TESCO DELIVERY SLOT FOR 23RD BUT YOU CANNOT HAVE A FRESH TURKEY DELIVERED!!

What is going on? I have been edging my slots forward each day with me turkey in basket, and today, lo and behold it says you cannot have the turkey delivered on 23rd and has removed it from my basket.

I stil have my slot for 22nd as not cancelled that one yet. But usually 'for deliveries between 20th and 23rd' mean including 23rd. How daft eh so thought you all ought to know if you were planning on getting your turkey delivered with your 23rd shop.

It's probably because they can't guarantee having any left in the shop by then
I'm going to get ours next week and freeze it. I know it's not as nice as a fresh one, but it's better than no bird at all!
For the last 10 years we've had one from the butchers but this year we feel that 80-odd quid is pushing it a bit for one element of Christmas day

there was loads of trouble with xmas deliveries last year. i wouldn't do it... shops will be open 24 hours, just go yerself!

yes tiger - this is the first of many yers i also thought i would get it from supermarket as lst year I got it from a specialised free range plce and cost an arm and a leg, just for us to eat the breast and the dogs and cat to feast on the rest .

Credit crunch and all that, i will be more frugal this year!

BB - I've had a change of plan ... I don't know if you are near one, but I've just ordered a turkey from M&S to pick up on the 23rd. They don't deliver, AFAIK, but it's ordered now so won't need to worry about not getting one (or bankrupting myself by getting one from teh butchers and £10.75 per lb )

I cant book Christmas week yet-18th Dec is the nearest day at the mo.Please advise as i am planning on staying up late to book my slot .
