christmas present challenge - I want a paint your own teapot

I want a teapot ds can paint for MIL.
Either a set or I can get a plain white teapot but I need someone to tell me what paints I'd need and whether the teapot needs a certain finish or not.

All I can find online is paint your own play teasets, which obv is not what I'm looking for.

Can anyone help?

oh yeah - I'll see if I can find one. If not I'm sure a special plate or mug would do.

Interesting they do pens though - I had images of paints that cannot be removed being flung all over house.

I will keep them in mind for future or if something goes wrong with this pottery thing. They seem to be all closing down round us.
