cd player or karaoke machine - which would a 7 year old get more use of?

i think cd player, dh thinks karaoke machine, help!

I suppose a CD player has longer term value. Karaoke machine usage may dwindle after few weeks or so. Is it for a girl? In danger of sounding sexist here but my DS would def prefer a CD player rather than deal with the torture of having to let the whole family hear his singing voice. IME, girls have no qualms about this . I say that with love people. Real love!!!

my DS (8) and DSD (7) loves the kareoke machine, it also plays normal CDs so they use it as a CD player and DVD player too......Value for money!

it is for a girl, and she does like to sing. i guess i'm not keen on a karaoke machine due to the size compared to a compact cd player, need to get over myself really and think about what dd would prefer!

You would be better off getting a playstation with a few singstar games, much more fun than just karaoke.
