or do they just take up space as your Dcs set up their train sets on the floor?

As time goes on I have found that if they have bridges and different buildings it becomes too complicated and big for a table.

RomanCandleQueen · 22/11/2008 21:32

DH made a large trolley that slide under the bed for the train set. Table certainly not big enough.
Sorry for stilted post baby crying for milk!

I've got a train table but it is a fair bit bigger than the ones I have seen in JL/ELC recently. It was great for my eldest as he could set up his track and I wouldn't ruin it hoovering round it etc.

DD has since set up her dolls house on it and DS2 has his farm etc on it now.

We have one we got from Costco a couple of years agao and it is great - a bit like this one

It is fantastic and a lot larger than the standard one. When the boys are a bit bigger we may get an under the bed one, but they play in the conservatory at the mo

One of the good things about the tables is them getting the track combinations to fit on the table.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 23/11/2008 10:10

We kept our Thomas table to put the Xmas tree on. It stays in the garage for the rest of the year.

We got it from a car boot so didn't spend ££££s on it thank gawd.

It's just not big enough for the elborate tracks my boys and mindees like to construct [understatement]

BibiThree · 23/11/2008 10:12

Too big, but stupidly not big enough for most child-constructed tracks, useless and annoying. Not worth the money imo, unless you've got a playroom or large house where it won't get in the way.

OracleInaCoracle · 23/11/2008 10:18

we bought ds a table for his train sets last year and he cant fit his constructions on it. although it is the right size for his farm set!

mincepiemadness · 23/11/2008 11:12

GLTC do a trundle one which is the same size as a single bed and rolls out from under it. Costs £85, there is 20% off if you buy today, I'm not sure if you can also add the 10% mumsnet offer to this??

trixymalixy · 25/11/2008 19:51

Cheers everybody, i think I've decided not to get one!
