My MIL wants one for Christmas. Anyone have any recommendations please?

Try www.cooksongold.com and www.suttontools.co.uk. They are trade sites but you don't need an account to buy from them. Put ultrasonic into the search box and it comes up. There are ones for £25-£30 on there. You can buy the cleaner to go in it, but to be honest, fairy liquid works quite well too! (have used that at work).
