was going to get a new bike but neighbours have kindly offered their old one. basically she doesn't need anything so i don't want to go crazy but i want to get something that she adores and remembers. she still talks about her snowwhite dressing up dress from last year.

she is fairly active, into swimming cycling etc and v. into pretend play and dressing up (but she has loads of dressing up stuff) any bright ideas please?

thanks

I think we're going to get one of those kids' digital cameras for our 4 yo.

TheGoat · 21/11/2008 10:34

thanks, thatis a good idea. only problem is it will probably be better than our camera!

theres a lovely website where you buy felt and make things. i've bought a couple of these for girls who are having their 5th birthday soon. they will need the help of their parent but there might be something that your dd might like cute

Dd1 wants plymobil for christmas which i dont mind buying because i like playing with it too , she's also asked for a handbag, play-doh ice cream shop and some board games.

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:12

Dolls house, sylvanian families, animal hospital?

Toy zoo or farm.

Playmobil.

Scooter.

My 4.5yo dd3 wants a baby doll that talks, she had one but it got left out in the rain and now only sucks, endlessly.

Marne · 21/11/2008 14:16

Fennel, we has the same problem with dd's doll (got left outside), she's getting a baby born which i think is water proof .

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:25

dd3 got a baby born last Christmas (that's all her baby dolls, the non-working talking one and baby born) and it was a big success. She Wees and Poos! what more can you ask of a doll?

nailpolish · 21/11/2008 14:27

my dds are into

aquabeads
bindeez
music (got dd1 a cd player for her bd)
jungle in my pocket
heelies
board games such as draughts and snakes and ladders. Frustration! is a fave game in this house
nintendo ds

francagoestohollywood · 21/11/2008 14:27

dd wants a doll that has a temperature and you have go give her an injection

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:28

Oh I've seen that one Franca, in my browing for a replacement talking doll. I thought about it for dd3, it looks OK, but she did specify the talking one.

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:29

"browsing", that was meant to say.

francagoestohollywood · 21/11/2008 14:31

It doesn't talk, no. But dd's looking forward to use a syringe. So you have cicciobello bua in the UK as well?

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:34

Yes, I guess so, but with a different name. I saw her in the local toy shop.

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:35

dd3 does want to be a doctor when she grows up (this week's plan). So maybe sick doll needing doctoring would be appropriate.

actually she wants to be a doctor or a granny.

nailpolish · 21/11/2008 14:36

ASDA have a doctors playset for £4 i think

the stethescope makes a noise like a heartbeat when you press it on someones chest - its fab

wideratthehips · 21/11/2008 14:36

does no one like the felt things? am i doomed? my son will be an outcast at the parties! i don't have little girls and i'm bewildered by what they like, please post a comment (even if its to say their guff)

nailpolish · 21/11/2008 14:38

my dd would like that
she knits and stuff

francagoestohollywood · 21/11/2008 14:38

Dd wants to be a teacher. And a hairdresser. She wants to do both. And have 4 children...

francagoestohollywood · 21/11/2008 14:39

lovely website wider, have bookmarked ir

Shitemum · 21/11/2008 14:39

dollhouse

Fennel · 21/11/2008 14:40

My 8 and 7yo dds really like sewing, even though they describe themselves as "tomboys" and don't like pink and sparkle, they like art and crafts and sewing is very popular. They would love that ladybird kit.

dd3 at 4.5 would be a bit young for it I think.

but it's a good present, yes.

TheGoat · 21/11/2008 16:40

thank you everyone! lots of good ideas. and yes i LOVED the felt stuff. asda doctor set as well. i jsut need to get my arse in gear and get stuff.
