Tamagotchi - what age please?

I had assumed that they were for older children, but having searched the archives on here all previous posts seem to be about 5-8 year olds having or wanting them.

So what do you think is the max age that they would suit?

dd1 was into them from about 6 onwards. Doesn't seem so interested now age 9, but I think it would still appeal to older children if they hadn't seen one before. But probably they would lose interest quite quickly!

oh they should be banned! You will end "gotchi-sitting" in the evenings and possibly be as addicted as you are to MN! 'Tis a recipe for disaster!

dd (12) has just come back from town having wangled her 5th Tama from her Dad.

I think they are ok for all ages and the Tama website mentions fans of all ages. So I've been told.

Put them on pause as they are highly addictive like RedSparklers says. (I love that name!)

dd is getting one in her sock this year - she is 7

Thanks ladies. Will have to think again for the older children.
