DH & I are very fortunate in that all of our small family dote on our DS and everyone buys him really lovely presents.

I already know this year various relatives have bought enormous amounts of lego, a V tech laptop (he's too young but its already bought and he will enjoy bashing away like me!), lots of building stuff (tools, real brick kits etc) and we have a cupboard of vehicles and a trainset.

However DH and I would really like to buy him a 'main' present as this is the first Christmas he will really be into. We haven't bothered before this as it was all too overwhelming for DS but this year's different and we'd like to buy him something he'd love but at 7 months pregnant and DH working away for a month I seem to be completely lacking in inspiration!

He's not at all interested in pirate ships or forts etc. If you ask him what he wants he just wants 'something Father Christmas would like to give him'.

Any ideas ?

My twins are 3 and will be gettinga farm playset with assorted animals/tractors as a main present.
They have just started to get the most out of playmobil - they love the playground set.
Trampoline?
Ds2 is into robin hood so an outfit/bow and arrow/ figures and so on will be coming his way.

Not mad about any one character but likes all the usual Thomas (growing out of that a bit since starting nursery), Fireman Sam, etc. Beyond Cbeebies type stuff he doesn't have any older siblings or cousins so is a bit of an innocent!

He's into building and building sites in a big way. And cars and firemen. And building and cars and fireman.

Am very inspired so far when it comes to stocking (am having to stop the urge to buy cheap tat as there's still 6 weeks to go and want to avoid going OTT) But have no ideas for a proper main present from Father Christmas!

Pintoy do a lovely wooden firestation and fire engine with firemen. They also do a wooden construction site with cranes, workmen, etc.

Or Playmobil do plastic versions which are also nice but have more fiddly bits to lose.

Bike? Either one of those like-a-bike type ones or a proper one with stabilisers?
Our 3 year old is getting a Meccano set which he can hopefully spend all Boxing Day building with DH and an Usborne book about Space-he will have lots from our extended family also. Was quite tempted to get him a starter bike but think we will wait until the summer
TBH we don't bother to get him anything big for birthdays or Christmas as he gets so much from family it seems better to spend our money on 'big things' eg sandpit/ playframe/swimming lessons/bike etc

My Ds has just turned 3 and i've bought him a Scooter and Pushchair so far, he's into Brio, his Bike and cars atm, my problem is he seems to have everything and i need to think of a 'main' present!

I would get him a scooter or maybe a toy garage if he's into vehicles, ours gets played with a lot.
