please do not say nothing or a teething ring etc - i KNOW she will not have a clue etc but i still want to get her a present.

ds was 6 months last christmas and he got a vtech walker which he used loads when he was older and some small stuff eg bath toys etc.

its just we now have quite a few toys for ds that dd can play with in time so what can i get for her?? not expensive up to £30 or so.

What about a small first christmas teddy - or a nice Christmas bauble.

Majeika · 18/11/2008 16:33

a book

doggiesayswoof · 18/11/2008 16:36

What about this

Assuming you don't already have dolls?

doggiesayswoof · 18/11/2008 16:37

Will be a while before she's playing with it of course. My dd had a soft doll when she was a baby and absolutely loved it.

sweetkitty · 18/11/2008 16:39

DD3 who will be 5 months at Christmas is getting a Gloworm thing and another little toy thing and I am doing a stocking for her with some little books, teething rings and toys.

Having 2 big sisters she doesn't need anything but it's more for them to see that she is getting something too.

compo · 18/11/2008 16:40

have you already got a play gym? bouncy chair?

peek a blocks might be fun

ohdearwhatamess · 18/11/2008 16:49

Her own teddy or soft toy.

Books that she'll grow into.

selby · 18/11/2008 20:54

Well, with an older brother a year older, no doubt, you'll already have toys galore so I would suggest a Steiff teddy bear for your DD.

rachels103 · 18/11/2008 20:56

A woozit!
DS stared at his for most of his first Christmas day...he was 6 weeks old.

funnypeculiar · 18/11/2008 20:57

A charm bracelet to add charms to over the years?

PortAndLemon · 18/11/2008 20:58

Lullaby CD? Something personalised?

I have one of www.letterbox.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_461_31_49845_-1__swimming-and-kit-bag-spotty these on DD's Christmas list because DS has a stripy one with his name on it.

And also one of these (although probably from a local toy shop as Amazon have a long lead time) to put family photos in for her.

our ds was 6 weeks old when it was his first christmas - we gave him a beautiful illustrated copy of Wind of the Willows to read when he grows up! we had soooo many baby clothes and toys given to us it seemed silly to get him anything like that.

we had this with ds2 he was 6 weeks at christmas.. so.. he had baby clothes.. a special teddy and a nice book a rattle thing and a jingle ball ( mainly because he had a big brother who expected FC would deliver etc)

but the best thing was I got the most gourdy flashing tree lights.. which he happily watched for an age!

MummyAnnabella · 18/11/2008 22:20

doggie - love the first doll that is what i had in mind but thought a doll would be too grown up but that one is perfect.

sweetk and myjob - also loving the gloworm - where do yoou get them from??

compo - already have bouncey chair playgym etc thats why i was finding it hard. like selby says we have most stuff but think the steiff is too dear.

funnyp - what woozit is best - seem to be a few.
