Hi
Well we have had two for my 7yo ds and both of them have been useless in my opinion.
They were not the real big expensive ones but not dead cheap either.
Every time the cars have just got stuck and will not go round the track properly.
This just ruins the enjoyment of them and althoug I do realise that the track needs cleaning and the bristles probably need the odd adjustment they seem to go like this again in no time at all.
My ds would like another one but I am so reluctant in case its like this again.
Has anybody had similar problems with these sets and are the really expensive ones just as bad.

We bought our DS's one a good few years back - they are now 11 and 9 and it is still working

We have a very old but originally expensive set, it must be over 30 years old. The track is fine, we get new cars for it occasionally.

DP probably tends lovingly to the bristles and things like that.

We have found just a basic set are best, then you can add to it later. A lap timer/counter is a good accessorie to buy.

we have the micro one which has racing minis..it has an uphill/downhill bit...sometimes the magnetic strip can get bits of fluff stuck to it so you have to check it a few times, but it has been pretty good so far
