..really starting to panic now.

They don't play with toys as in spiderman and all that anymore....they have never liked any lego....they also have 3 older brothers so we have boy things in the house.

Is it me or is this a very inbetween age??

They don't even know what they want themselves!!

Helllpp!!

My 7.5 yrs old DS has asked for a beanbag for his bedroom - so he can have a chill out corner.

You have 5 boys!!!!!

Buda · 18/11/2008 14:31

It is a hard age I think

My DS is 7 and has asked for:

Fifa 09 on Nintendo DS
Simpsons Hit and Run for Playstation
Champions League Football
Guinness Book of Records
Match Annual
Arsenal Goalie shirt with his name on

Will also get him a board game of some sort to counteract the video games and maybe a chemistry set of some description.

Any of those useful?

Fiveplusbump · 18/11/2008 14:31

Do they like Dr who .

My ds wants a Remote control spider

a football game that remembers how you throw so tests your ability .

We got him a bop it last year which is very addictive good .

bozza · 18/11/2008 14:34

Agree with the inbetween age thing. DS has mentioned an interactive Wall-E toy thing. fortunately though for us he is the only boy and does like lego. . I have not bought the Wall-E but mentioned it to family. We have bought him a docking station for his MP3. He also wants various expensive bits of lego and DS games. Plus he usually gets a football shirt.

Walkie Talkies?

wideratthehips · 18/11/2008 14:37

whats your budget?

the sliding/skidding scalextric looks great fun.

bean bags are a great idea, i would love to get my sons these look way comfy but expensive

umm, are you wanting to stear away from computer game type things (money pits!!)

PortBlacksandResident · 18/11/2008 14:41

Wow - they are fab Wider. Sadly Santa's budget doesn't quite stretch that far.

wideratthehips · 18/11/2008 14:53

hmmm same here!

PeachyAndTheSucklingBas · 18/11/2008 14:59

5 boys? lucky you (only have 4, dh has barred any more LOL)

les see- ds1 will be 9, ds2 almost 8 what are they having

ok they like sciencey stuff- microscopes, rock tumblers, anything like that. robots ae a bg nit too, ds1 has and is desperate for spykee mikee (iirc) small version tesco £20

mum and dad are getting them a joint gift of a pile of board games- that will go down very well indeed

idobelieveinghosts · 18/11/2008 15:54

I actually have 6 boys and 2 girls...these are the trickiest by far!!!!

They've had nintendo ds...a couple of years ago, but they broke recently..they hardly played on them anyway, they have a WII...

..doctor who was last year..but you have reminded me that i have bought those new battling screw-drivers....

board games..i will look into them again..last year they seemed a bit young for the good ones....

i did see a remote control snake last week too..hmmmm

not a lot of floor space for scalextric..but will take a look at that-thank-you!

There's a remote control tarantula in woolies that looks quite good, I would imagine that would pair well with the snake?

iheartdusty · 18/11/2008 22:38

how about;

circus lessons

pocket camcorder

pets - eg hermit crabs

bikes
scooters
roller blades
stilts
pogo sticks
moon shoes
clip-on rollers ( like heelies but they clip on your shoes)

tent and expedition equipment - binoculars, compass, water flask, head torch etc

ChasingSquirrels · 18/11/2008 22:45

electronics kit. Bit pricy, I got ds1 an 80 piece one last year for £5 from local cheapy bookstore (like The Works). I have recommended them quite a few times on here (and brought a few as pressies), maybe I should bulk buy a load and sell them on for £10 inc P&P!

Games

  • Top trumps
  • Uno
  • Yahtzee
  • chess?
MorocconOil · 18/11/2008 22:51

My DS was overjoyed when he got a desk for his bedroom.
