I need to buy a pink ds, but i also need to buy it as cheap as possible!!!! I have had a look about, do i need to get the accessory kit or is that just an extra we don't really need? Also, anyone found a good deal, i have looked at Argos which looks ok but hoping there is some cheaper somewhere else??!!!

magicofchristmas · 16/11/2008 18:33

Sainsburys have them for £99, no idea what comes with it tho.

bubblerock · 16/11/2008 19:35

£89.97 for just the console at Tesco Direct You also get you Clubcard points and 7% cashback via quidco.

eandh · 16/11/2008 20:58

Quidco is a cashback site - if you are purchasing anything online (shopping, insurance, broadband, lottery etc..) visit Quidco and see if the company is listed then click the link to visit the site via Quidco. (basically quidco get paid for directing customers to companies and they pass some of the cashback on to us - it's an affiliate site).

I've earnt over £800 with them

blossomsmine · 17/11/2008 22:23

I've heard quidco mentioned before but didn't realise you could earn so much from it!! I'mm off to have a look too!!

bubblerock · 18/11/2008 10:15

It is good, I always buy my insurance via quidco to earn £70 - £100 cashback. Also a lot of bingo sites offer cashback ie. sign up with Gala via quidco and get £20 if you play through £10 - obviously just don't get hooked (or play the free thursday bingo lol). You don't get paid straight away as the cashback has to be validated, so it's a nice savings plan.

blossomsmine · 18/11/2008 21:14

In the end i got it from play.com as it was free delivery and other places i tried didn't have it in stock........
Now...........anyone know the best places price wise for the games?? I had a look at Asda which looked quite good but i am determined to track down good deals as money abit of an issue this year

Lilyloo · 18/11/2008 21:15

look on here in for sale games section
or you can get pre owned ones quite cheap from game / blockbuster etc

SoupDragon · 18/11/2008 21:18

You need to shop around for games IMO.

bubblerock · 18/11/2008 22:27

The Toptoy (like R4) is only $8.49 now

bubblerock · 18/11/2008 22:28

oops, link would be useful here

blossomsmine · 18/11/2008 22:42

Thanks

SoupDragon · 19/11/2008 11:23

why is it so much cheaper, Bubble? (still not got one )

bubblerock · 19/11/2008 14:04

They've just gradually come down in price - you must get one Soupy, it will save you a fortune!! (don't forget the 2gb micro sd card to go in it only costs around £4-£5). I don't play much myself but I'm really enjoying Professor Layton And The Curious Village it's blimmin addictive!

SoupDragon · 20/11/2008 08:26

I've just ordered Prof L from HK (I'm sure it's genuine [cough].

I've toyed with the idea of the R4 things. Where do the games come from? That's the bit I've not worked out yet

oggsfrog · 20/11/2008 08:40

What is the TopToy/R4? What does it do?

SoupDragon · 20/11/2008 08:43

It goes in as a DS cartridge but the games are loaded onto a memory card that slots into the cartridge. I do not believe it is exactly legal (ie the downloading of the games to the memory card isn't)

bubblerock · 20/11/2008 09:56

It's very similar to downloading music to an MP3 player, just download the game you want from the internet then drag it to the memory card. You can put 20-30+ games on one card. There is lots of info on the internet but as soupy says it's not exactly kosha.

oggsfrog · 20/11/2008 14:06

Ah. Won't be any good for us as we can't download stuff.

So you can recommend the DS Lite then? We're getting dd one for Christmas.

I like the look of the Prof Layton game.

Soupy, what's HK?

bubblerock · 20/11/2008 15:18

I can definitely recommend the DS Lite - it's brilliant and there is something for everyone to play out there! DS2 has been playing DS2's DS (god that's confusing) since he was 3 and has very good co ordination.
I still have a spare Top Toy here if you are interested email me (bubblerock jl 2 at aol.com) and I'll explain a bit more.

SoupDragon · 20/11/2008 18:16

HK is Hong Kong. Where the games are always strangely cheap...

Have just bought 3 Top Toys (one for each of us!)

oggsfrog · 20/11/2008 20:31

Ah. That HK.

I've reserved a DS Lite, accessories pack and a horsey game from Argos.
