Had puny little fake trees pre-DCs but now the time is right to get a good one to last us years.
About 6 feet tall, nice and bushy, moderately real-looking...?

Oh no! I'm watching this thread as I too would like to know where to purchase the bees knees of artificial trees, so I'm bumping...

try your local garden centes as they normally have a large selection which will give an idea of what they are like.

I second trees from garden centres. I bought one from an independent garden centre, this will be its 7th outing this year, it has survived our kitten climbing it 2 yrs running without collapsing or damage done, so worth getting a strong, good quality one. I think that independent garden centres tend to get different stock than the big chains like Wyevale. You may get a good deal this year if they aren't shifting much stock, and run a special offer!

Thanks everyone. Was beginning to think I'd outdone myself and killed a thread before it had even started...

The reason I ask is because I bought this one online from John Lewis and am a bit disappointed with how unbushy it is in real life.

Looked at a few in town yesterday and didn't see anything great. But it's going to get covered in more and more tinsel and gaudy baubles as the years go by so perhaps I'm worrying too much.
