Oh FGS, how can I call myself a proper Mother if I can't do this most simple thing?

I just want to make a paper snowflake. It can't be that hard, surely?

Google not yielding anything remotely straightforward, any links anyone? Pleeeease?

How about this

purlease · 12/11/2008 13:39

square piece of paper - lots of folding -snip a few holes/patterns in it - unfold - you have a snowflake

girlandboy · 12/11/2008 13:40

This one looks technical! here

Cadelaide · 12/11/2008 13:40

purlease, not here you don't. You have lots of tiny tringles scattered over the floor.

Goober · 12/11/2008 13:40

Found this via Google.

girlandboy · 12/11/2008 13:42

Actually quite fancy having a go at the 3d one!

MadreInglese · 12/11/2008 13:42

That 3D one looks great!!

It's all in the folding Cadelaide, look here

Cadelaide · 12/11/2008 13:42

Two links to the "highhopes" site, thankyou, but their instructions simply didn't work for me. I got a 4-tipped snowflake that just looks silly.

I clicked on this thread readdy to say "Don't be upset, of course you are a proper mother, we all find some things difficult, but......

that is lamentable

purlease · 12/11/2008 13:43

looks like girlandboy and goober have the solution - not sure about the 3d one though - seems a bit complicated.

girlandboy · 12/11/2008 13:44

How can you possibly be getting a 4 tipped star when the instructions mean it will be 6 tipped.

Come on woman, get a grip........try again.

MadreInglese · 12/11/2008 13:45

A 4 tipped star?

You should give up now really

heymammy · 12/11/2008 13:48

Cadelaide, I share your pain. I am utterly useless at this sort of thing. I tried to cut out one of those wee paper chains of people holding hands...well I ended up with lots of individual little people and I can't work out why

girlandboy · 12/11/2008 13:50

Oh my......there is no hope for you.

Just watched the video on the 3d star. Seems pretty foolproof to me - and not that difficult!

Cadelaide · 12/11/2008 13:51

MadreInglese, I thank you for your link.

I am now a proper Mother.

OP posts:
MadreInglese · 12/11/2008 13:52

Ah, actually, you have to cut off a bit of excess edge to make it more rounded, if you're not doing this then they will look 4 tipped.

It's much easier to show you than to explain it in text! This loony woman seems to have it sussed

MadreInglese · 12/11/2008 13:52

Oooh you've done it? Hurrah!

Now you can try the 3D one

heymammy · 12/11/2008 13:57

Madre, I have added that link to 'my favourites' for future reference and thanks
