I've got some chocolate coins but no idea what else to put in it. Ds will be 2.10yo.

Go to your local pound shop and buy:

plastic cars
plastic toy DIY tools
Bubbles - the ones you can touch
crayons

Go to joke shop and buy:

Whoopee cushion

Snack of some sort
Funky toothbrush from eBay
Character socks
Little bag with rocks / large stones from your local park in it
Schleigh animals (ebay)
Toy car
Gazoo (from music shop - you hum in to it)
Stickers
Satsuma
Small book
Windmill (that you blow on a stick from the pound shop probably)

I had a chocoholics party last night & they have loads of FAB stockingy bits for brilliant prices. My absolute fave is a balloon helicopter which is, unsurprisingly, a helicopter that flies using balloon power!

look here: www.chocolate-parties.com

(hope the link works - not done it before)

OOOH & Hawkins Bazaar have loads of great bits too.
My hubby always gets the stocking stuff & I know he's been Christmas shopping when he comes wandering in with the Hawkins Bazaar bag!

comic
toothbrush and toothpaste (my 2 DD are obsessed with cleaning their teeth - 4 1/2 and 21 months)
framed photo of sibling or parents or grandparents
bath crayons
character face cloth that expands in water
satsuma
shaped balloon

Thankyouandgoodnight · 11/11/2008 22:47

ooh where do you get the face cloths from?

carries · 11/11/2008 22:55

hawkins Bazaar. Random kids gift shops that you find at museums!?!? Weird. Disney store. To be honest I've never bought them but my kids have received at least 2 each.

I've just checked ebay. A lot of their shops sell them and they are officially called "magic towels".

NorthernLurker · 11/11/2008 23:23

I always put groovy socks in. Quite often a nice mug or cutlery or a plate. I think I might get dd3 a night garden plate or cup this year actually. Always at least one book as well.

I ordered some stuff from Hawkins Bazaar about this time yesterday and its just come .

So my next stupid stocking question is do you wrap stocking fillers or just chuck them in? Can you tell my parents never did stockings?

Ii would say wrap them, but do them NOW, & as you buy each thing, rather than wait till you're bored of all the wrapping. Otherwise it does become a pain in the bum!
