If I'm ever stuck for presents there are two websites I usually go to for inspiration! Hawkins Bazaar www.hawkins.com or I want one of those iwantoneofthose.com they have some really interesting bits and bobs. If you are a member of Quidco then you get quite a nice bit of cashback from Hawkins. Hope that helps a bit?

dmo · 12/11/2008 13:21

my boys are 11 and 12 i normally put them in
a book
a teddy
socks
cup
shower gel/smellies
guitar picks
sweet
art stuff (paper/scissors/glue/paper clips)
pencil case
new pens/pencils for school
dvd

also add bits from BHS/hawkins bazar last yr i got them a night light each and a fart maker etc

the dvd is to watch in the morning so i get an extra hr in bed

Thanks for the ideas so far.

Am watching this thread with interest. DH and i have set ourselves a strict budget this year and after his main present and all the bits that go with it there 'aint much left for stocking fillers!!

lilibet · 12/11/2008 21:33

Nasa ice cream??

colacubes · 12/11/2008 21:41

Its the frozen space food stuff, looks like ice cream tastes like ice cream, but freeze dried, space man food, very cool.

I just got my ds and dn a 20 q ball, you thinbk of something and it guess what it is your thinking of in 20 questions or less.

lilibet · 12/11/2008 21:42

ooooh - where do you get that from?

tortoise · 12/11/2008 21:43

Yes where from?

DS2 has 20Q. Hardly uses it.

do you have a Quality Save near you? They have some really cheap wooden/metal puzzles and quiz books in ours at the mo. I've also picked up a cheap sports DVD from the Works for DS (15). Sports drink's bottle, even if he's not sporty, they come in useful.

tortoise · 12/11/2008 21:44

found it!

am just placing hawkins order and notice that they have space ice-cream
Would be well worth looking at what else Hawkins has got which might be good for your DS, it's hard to find stocking fillers for older boys and they have some really good stuff (they'll send you a catalogue if you prefer to browse a brochure than online)

tortoise · 14/11/2008 23:42

Thanks lilo. Hadn't seen it in Hawkins book. I have a list of stuff to order for all the DC.Will be adding that in too.

pleasure. Just ordered some and far too many other things myself!

serin · 15/11/2008 00:41

They also sell the ice cream at Jodrell bank if you are up this way!

lilolilmanchester · 15/11/2008 00:44

I am serin, but have just ordered from Hawkins. Hadn't put it on my list first time around now have ordered out of interest, having read about it on here!

gillybean2 · 15/11/2008 09:11

I second (or third probably) Hawkins Bazar

How about top trumps cards (indiana jones and top gear out there at the moment)

My ds always gets a diecast car or two, but he's car mad.

Another fun place with cheapy gifts and wooden puzzles etc is www.yellowmoon.org.uk but you have to pay postage if you only place a small order. I usually manage to find lots of things for the whole family in there though.
